GP Trainees Cookham Medical Centre is a training practice, which means we participate in the advanced training of doctors who wish to go on to become GP's. They are fully qualified doctors with extensive hospital experience and are supervised by Dr Birdi and Dr Swamy. They work and train with us for up to a year, sharing all aspects of medical care and practice life, in liaison with the partners. Please accept their services as an extension of our own. During their time with us they see patients in their own clinics. Part of this training involves analysis of videotaped consultations. If this applies to you, we will always ask your permission beforehand. The recording may, with your agreement, be seen later by other doctors for teaching purposes. The code of confidentiality between doctor and patient will of course be adhered to and the video recording will be erased after viewing by the doctors. If after your consultation you decide you would prefer to have the recording erased, please tell the Receptionist before you leave. The practice is regularly assessed as a training practice by visiting doctors to make sure we continue to meet the necessary requirements as a training practice. Health care professionals may wish to examine some patient records when assessing our practice. If you object to this please let us know. |
